One of the toughest decisions we had to make in this journey was whether or not we should bring our boys with us to China. At first, we were adamant to take them. Our hearts could not bear being away from them for 2 weeks. There are definite pros to having the boys be there to help Annabelle get acclimated to our family unit. The cons are that if one of the boys gets sick we would be spread thin. How about that 15 hour flight back with a baby and our two boys? We prayed for MONTHS over it and ultimately came to the conclusion that it would be best if mommy and daddy went to spend 2 weeks with Annabelle giving her our undivided attention.
Jonah started praying for a little sister before we even knew God had called us to adopt. His big heart has been fully vested into this journey. Jonah has already made a sign at school to carry when he meets Annabelle for the first time. (side note...they are learning about Chinese New Year...coincidence? I think not!) Hudson is very excited about breaking into all her new toys...a pink castle...a princess riding toy. He cannot wait to show Annabelle how to storm the castle. ha!
They cannot wait to meet their baby sister! Through prayer and anticipation I'm at peace knowing they are ready. One thing we have done is create a countdown with these little bags. (I cannot take credit for the idea....it came from a few amazing adoptive mommas with great advice) Each countdown bag has a scripture from Proverbs and a
note from mommy and daddy. Inside are surprises!! Just doing these
little things puts my heart at ease.
